Mr. Willie James Brown was born March 4, 1953 to the late Mr. Edward W Brown and Mrs. Voohrees S. Brown in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He graduated from North Forsyth High School.

Mr. Brown worked for the City of Winston-Salem Streets Division for thirty-eight years. He retired on December 1, 2016.

He was a faithful member of Love and Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Greensboro, North Carolina.

He had several hobbies consisting of manicuring his lawn, exercising, washing his cars and spending quality time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 26 years Mrs. Teretha W. Brown; Four children: Mr. Degwanus L. Brown, Mr. Willie J. Brown Jr., Ms. Anjail Bishop, Ms. Rashawntha Brown; Grandchildren: Nasir Melton, Ahmir Brown, Tamir Brown, Javon C. Slade, Yesenia Brown, I'keena Bishop, Korean Bishop. Two sisters: Ms. Martha Wilson and Ms. Mae Wilks. A supportive host of relatives and friends.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Voohrees S. Brown and Mr. Edward W. Brown Sr.; sisters: Mrs. Helen B. Ceasar, Mrs. M Mitchell, Mrs. Flora B. Smith; Brother Mr. Edward W. Brown Jr.
