On Wednesday September 20, 2023, Willie C. "WC" Allen, Jr. peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home. He was born June 28, 1932 in Advance, NC to

Willie Coyette, Sr. and Edna H. Allen.

He attended Davie County Training School and was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1995, he married his childhood sweetheart,

Mable Peebles Allen.

Willie was employed by Foltz Concrete Company, the Winston Salem Journal & Sentinel and McLean Trucking Company in Winston Salem, NC. He later moved to

Elyria, Ohio where he worked and retired from Ford Motor Company. Upon returning to NC, he and his brother, Alfred founded Allen Construction Company.

At an early age, he joined Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church in Advance, NC and he renewed his membership upon his return. His favorite Bible text was the 23rd Psalm.

"WC" was an avid sports person. His favorite sports included baseball, football and basketball. He and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the country.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Annie R. Brown; and brothers, Harvey, Robert and Alfred Allen.

Those he leaves to celebrate his life and legacy are his devoted wife, Mable; two children, Tonya C. Campbell (Thomas) and Jimmy M Peebles, Sr. (Ethel); four grandchildren; Michael Peebles, Jr., Jessica P. Wilkerson (Lamar), Chloe Clements, Cayla Clements; four great grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and a devoted friend, James "Babe" Wharton.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church, 488 Peoples Creek Road, Advance, NC. The Family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to service. Clark S. Brown & Sons in charge of services.
