Mrs. Vicky Jean Parham Adams passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, following a period of illness. She was born to the late Chauncey Lee Parham and Catherine Golden Parham in Forsyth County, NC on July 20, 1939. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Icie Parham; Aunts, Berdie P. Mickles and Doris P. Gray; uncles, James W. and Clarence Parham; and cousin, Brenda P. Mauney.

Vicky graduated from Atkins High School in 1957 and received a bachelor's degree in education from Winston-Salem Teacher's College (WSSU) in 1961. She later earned a Master's Degree in Education at the University of Virginia in 1973. She taught elementary school and retired from the Spotsylvania County Virginia School System following thirty years of dedicated service.

Mrs. Adams was a faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church and she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

A funeral service will take place at 12 pm, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at New Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony will take place at 11 am and the family will greet friends at 11:30 am at the church.
