Ms. Veronica Lynette Payne was born on April 28, 1965, to Mr. Hinton H. Covington and Ms. Elizabeth Wilson Payne in Winston- Salem, North Carolina. Her earthly assignments completed, she passed away on January 9, 2022.

Veronica attended RJ. Reynolds High School. She was a longtime member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang on the choir and participated in many other church activities.

Her employment included many years of customer service in the restaurant industry.

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles G. Payne, Jr; and a sister, Wanda A. Payne. She is survived by her two sons, Brandon D. Payne and Dustin J. Payne; two nephews, Patrick L. Payne and Terrance R. (ArTiffany) Payne of Gilbert, Arizona; a niece, Kindra Y. Payne; and a devoted friend, Tony L. Porter.

Ms. Payne may be publicly viewed Friday, January 14, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Service will be Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Friendship Baptist Church, 1317 North Cherry Street, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Interment Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, North Car olina.
