Sy1vester Ronald Bitting, better known as "Bookey" and "Spanky", was born on August 21, 1980. On Thursday, November 2, 2023, he passed away at the age of 43.

Sylvester attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. He was a humorous man, loving son, father, brother and friend to many. In the midst of overcoming challenges in his life, he successfully completed his GED and occasionally was employed as a stocker at a local store.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester "Vest" Bitting; grandmothers, Cora Lee Bitting and Jessie Ann Jones; and aunt, Brenda Jones Sanders.

Remaining to celebrate his life are: his mother, Ruby Bitting; mother of his sons, Charity Williamson; sons, Marcus and Kavon Bitting of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Kayla Bitting; sisters, Romenthia Jones and Jessica Bitting; aunts, Sandra Jones, Cynthia (Jesse) Jones, Robbie (Mike) Gear, Christine Sanders, and Gracie Stinson; uncles, John William Jones, Jr., Bernard (Priscilla) White, Richard White and Willie White; grandfather, John William Jones, Sr.; and a host nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who will cherish his memory.

Public viewing will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Friday, November 10, 2023 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, November 11, 2023 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends thirty-minutes prior to service.
