Sharron D.
Carter
Jul 30, 1958 — May 24, 2024
Today, we gather to celebrate the life of Sharron Denise Carter, who was born on July 30, 1958, to the late Carolyn L. Polite and Joseph V. Carter. She peacefully embarked on her final journey on Friday, May 24, 2024.
Sharron attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and left an indelible mark on all those she encountered. For four and a half decades, nearly her lifetime, Sharron dedicated herself to K&W Cafeteria, starting as a server and eventually ascending to the role of manager. Her tireless work ethic, unwavering dedication, love for cooking, and genuine care for others made her a beloved figure in both her professional and personal life. Sharron was a devoted worker who invested ample time and energy into her job, consistently going above and beyond to support and care for those in need which many of her coworkers and customers who knew her well have shared with the family.
Beyond her career pursuits, Sharron's compassion knew no bounds. She was a beacon of warmth and empathy, offering solace and support to anyone who crossed her path. Her kind and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sharron is preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn L. Polite, and two brothers, Reginald Carter, and Vernon Roberts.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, her two daughters, Tameka Carter and Chiquetta (Patrick) Kelly; her two sons, Demarus (Latedia) Carter and Maurice Carter, all of Winston-Salem, NC; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her father, Joseph Carter of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her sister, London "Buffy" McKinney of Winston-Salem, NC; her brother, Dennis Carter of St. Petersburg, FL; three nieces; a nephew; her fiancé, James Bray; a devoted best friend, Ms. Shirley Gist; and a host of cousins, friends, and coworkers.
As we reflect on Sharron's life, let us carry forward her legacy of selflessness, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Her impact on the lives of others will never be forgotten, and her memory will continue to inspire acts of kindness and generosity for years to come. Though we mourn the loss of Sharron Carter, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on us all. Her spirit will live on in our hearts, and we will forever hold close the memories of her unwavering love and care.
