Sharon Hughes
Dublin
d. Jun 27, 2021
Born Sharon Letrice Hughes in the Autumn of 1950, Sharon displayed an elegance and Edwardian radiance that glowed and illuminated well beyond her origin. Her personality was an experience of pure pageantry. Her voice was a sonic tone of angels. Her smile was penetrating and pure. Graceful was her spirit and life. Sharon was the bell of the ball and lived to bring flare and special, to every occasion. Fashion was her melody of expression. Articulate elocution at all times, marked her cadence for style and formality. May her rhythm echo into Judea. Sharon was a rose in presentation and form. None more precious. Our beloved lived in great challenge, and now rest in great triumph. Our love, our queen, rest in your eternal castle. May the lord bestow upon you, a golden crown.
Sharon was a faithful servant to the Baptist, AME Zion & AME church missions. Bridging the gap between interdenominational faiths. Culminating into a multi- decade tenure of board leadership, mission, and staff service at St Matthews AME church of Raleigh NC.
Educated in Business Administration, Sharon began her professional career in hospital administration at Forsyth Hospital of Winston Salem before moving to Raleigh NC to become a foundational team member of Exide Electronics. Holding several executive staff and HR positions in RTP (Research Triangle Park) over a 40-year span. Sharon's professional career journeyed through Owens Corning, EPA & The National Black Caucus.
Sharon is survived by a loving son, H. Perry; siblings: Paxton & Tangula Hughes, Gordon Hughes, Gregory Hughes, Don & Lendris Hughes, Benjamin Hughes, Dorothy & Reginald Austin, Veronica Hughes, Julia and Sylvester Young, Carl Settle Sr and a vast legacy of multi-generational family members.
