Shanton E.
Eldridge
May 11, 1985 — Sep 3, 2025
Shanton E. "Smoove" Eldridge lived his life the way he loved his family with joy, generosity, and an open heart. On September 3, 2025, at the age of 40, Shanton peacefully took his next journey, leaving behind the love he gave to family and friends that will never fade. It lives on in every heart still holding his memory.
Shanton was born on May 11, 1985, in Winston-Salem, NC where he was a 2003 graduate of Glenn High School. He also attended Forsyth Technical Community College where he finished with an associate degree in Computer Programming. But it did not stop there. He then proceeded to take it a step further and pursue a career in cooking by enrolling in culinary school. This is when ""Chef Smoove" was created. He thought he was cooking us 5 star meals but in reality, he was giving us 2.5 star dishes, however, they were always made with love. " From early on, he had a playful spirit-always the jokester of the family, with an eye for finding trouble and bringing joy in equal measure.". He had a passion for basketball, Citgo Hot wings, being a fake news man (LOL), making sure he was always well groomed and spending unlimited time with his family and friends.
To know Shanton is to know he was a true bullheaded Taurus, with stubborn in spirit, but with a heart overflowing with joy and warmth. Shanton believed he was "THEE" ladies man but in reality he had an irresistible charm and made everyone feel special. His magnetic presence drew many people in and he had a way of making every encounter memorable.
Shanton was preceded in death by his grandfather Charles Eldridge Sr.
Shanton leaves a family who will carry on his love and legacy forever, ; his son Christion, two daughters TaNiya and Tamel; his parents Donald and Arealer Eldridge; siblings Javar, Shalatia (Shanikah) and Chantal; grandmother Hannah Eldridge; aunt Molly McLain; godmother Joyce Gamble; devoted neighbors Miss Fannie Peoples and The Haynie's; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
