Sarah Maggie Hairston, age 90, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Forest Heights Senior Living Community. She was born on October 14, 1930 in Clemmons, NC to the late James A Hairston and the late Laura Florence Winifred Hairston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by thirteen of her fifteen siblings and her two grandchildren Bridgett Ja'Netta Teague and Brock Cloud.

She was educated in the local school system and attended Business College. She retired from Winston Salem State University.

She loved sewing and planting a garden to share with all of her neighbors. She was a faithful member of the Winston Salem Church of Christ and a true servant of the Lord.

Sarah was devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by sons, Aldine (Betty) Cloud, of the city, Avery (Greta) Cloud of Baton Rouge, LA., Broderick (Gloria) Cloud of the city, Jonathan Cloud of Appleton, WI. her brother Dr. Andrew Hairston (Jeanie) of Atlanta, GA four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no public viewing of Ms. Hairston.
