Roosevelt Bennett was born on March 8, 1933 in Wadesboro, NC. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in 1966 and again in 1969. He was a man of honesty, heroism and support. He later received his bachelor's degree from Winston-Salem State University. He enjoyed teaching young students at several schools within the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system ROTC program.

He gained his angel wings on May 2, 2021 and will now watch over those he loves, which include: his wife, Betty Bennett; daughters: Patricia Stubbs, Cynthia Diane Acker and Rosalinda Thomas; sons in love: Wayne (Desiree) Berry and David (Grace) Berry; daughters in love, Leslie Berry and Stacy (Rodney) Byers; grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews,a host of cousins,friends and extended family.

Funeral service will be private at Mars Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Bennett will be available for public viewing from 12:00 PM ~ 5:00 PM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be at Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
