Ronald S.
Venable
Aug 1, 1947 — Sep 12, 2026
Mr. Ronald Stephen Venable was born to the late Joseph Willis Venable, Sr. and Catherine Denny Venable on August 1, 1947. He went home to be with the Master, September 12, 2026. Ronald attended Anderson Junior and Senior High School and received his GED from Forsyth Technical Community College.
He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. After his tour in Vietnam, Ronald was employed at Basset-Sacks and later landed a job as a mechanic at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and retired after 35 years of service. He was known for his love of racing, basketball, and box-ing but mostly remembered for riding his motorcycle and his style of dress. Ronald took his role of being a leader in family values seriously, lived his life that way, and was loved by all family and friends. He never met a stranger, and he gave his last to whomever was in need. He was a father-figure to all.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe, Sr. and Catherine, three brothers, Rayvon, Quentin and Joe, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his dedicated wife and high school sweetheart, Lynda M. Venable with whom he shared the joy of raising their daughter, Kimberly Venable: a daughter, Chantae McFadden; sons: Reginald Johnson, Stephen Frieson and David Butler; grandchildren, KeyaLeigh Hairston (Tyre), Ronda Hickman, Reginald Johnson, Jr., Nataisha Kimbrough, Davarius Butler and Devin Butler; great grandchildren, Levi Tucker, Harmony, Melody and Unique Johnson; sister, Constance Laverne Pearson; sisters-in-law, Marian Venable, Gloria Venable, Diane McCarrell; brother-in-law, Michael McCarrell (Gwen); nieces, Pastor Karen McDowell, Pamela Carson, Kay Bohannon, Crystal Venable Sturdivant, and Toy Moxley; nephews, Charles Bohannon (Gail), William Bohannon, Howard "Ken" Venable (Tangerine Dobson), Anthony Venable, Omar Dunlap, and Destry Mosley; devoted cousin/brother, Nelson Wilson (Patricia); and best friend and road dog Ret. Sgt. Ross King; a host of great nephews, nieces, family and friends. We want to give special thanks to the devoted A and B units of the North Carolina Veterans Home of Kernersville, North Carolina.
