Robin D. Sims went to be with the Lord from her home on Monday, September 12, 2016, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Wilber McSwain; a brother-in-law, Donald Leach and a sister-in-law, Yvonne McSwain.

Robin was a former employee of the United States Postal Service and the City of Winston-Salem. She retired from Forsyth County and was honorably discharged from The United States Marine Corps.

Loving memories will be cherished by her son, Josef Alonzo (Stephanie) Sims of Okemah, OK; three grandchildren, Jaraett Alexander Sims, Jaiden Darnell Sims and Ashton Wayne Sims, all of Okemah, OK; three brothers, Lawrence Calvin (Vivian) McSwain, William (Queen) McSwain and Louis McSwain; five sisters, Marie M. (Robert) Jamerson, Frances M. Leach, Ernestine (Perry) Luckey, Linda M. (Carnell) Randall and Janie M. Hardman; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will take place at 12 pm, Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel, at 11 am.

Mrs. Witherspoon attended the local public schools and graduated from Parkland High School in 1973. Her varied work history included positions with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and most recently Hanesbrands.
