Mr. Robert B. Stimpson, Sr. was born on December 2, 1944 in Winston Salem, NC to the late Herbert Stimpson, Sr. and Kate Stimpson.

He was a graduate of Yadkin High School in Booneville NC. After high school, he was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam as a mechanic. He worked in R. J. Reynolds in the Engraving department as a machinist, until he retired.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, and a good friend to most. In his spare time, he was a well-known and respected car mechanic in the Winston Salem and Walkertown area.

Robert transitioned out of his earthly body in the early morning on January 24, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Stimpson, Sr., mother, Kate Stimpson, his daughter, Myra Stimpson, his sisters, Ozelle Holland and Phyliss Scales and nephew, Christopher Holland.

He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: Ms. Montana Stimpson, four sons: Rodney Hall (Tonja), Robert B. Stimpson, Jr. (Angela), Laymond Hairston and Rashard B. Stimpson; stepson, Tommie Fair; three daughters: Tori Gaither (Terrell), Robin Hairston, and Rashena Stimpson; three brothers: Herbert Stimpson (Patsy), Joseph Stimpson (Debra), and Rev. Allen Stimpson (Rosemary); six sisters: Luseal Corbert, Mary Fields, Annie Baylor, Fay Davis, Kay Stimpson, and Jan Brown; twenty-one grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Funeral service will be private. Mr. Stimpson will be publicly viewed, Friday, January 28, 2022, from 12:00 PM ~ 5:00 PM at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Interment in Gardens of Memory.
