Mr. Robert Nathan Owens, Sr. was born on November 13, 1957 to the late Ethel Phillips Lindsay in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He passed away on August 7, 2021.

He received his formal education from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and attended East Forsyth High School. He enjoyed sports especially playing basketball and skating.

Robert worked for Budd Services for over 15 years. He was a fan of the NFL Washington (formerly known as Redskins) Football Team. He loved helping others, was a jack of all trades, and could repair anything.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel P. Lindsay; son, James Lamont Stephens; niece, Danika Revae Simpson; and mother-in-law, Annie Beatrice Stephens.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving wife, Alma Lee Owens; sons, Shawn Jermaine Stephens, Robert Owens, Jr.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Malvoia (Robert) Tolliver, Elaine Holland; three brothers, Ray Simon, Jr., Reverend Henry (Polanda) Owens, Caswell Lee Lindsay, Jr.; and a host of family and friends.

Mr. Owens may be publicly viewed on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held.
