Mr. Robert Jerome Duckett, Jr., affectionately known as "Bruh", "Nooky", "Duck", was born on October 24, 1956 to the late Robert J. Duckett, Sr and Etheleen Peoples Duckett. Nooky peacefully ended this earthly route on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He attended Parkland High School. He worked for Pepsi Cola and Cloverdale Ford, retiring after 30 years of service to the City of Winston-Salem. Nooky enjoyed life to the fullest: racing, old movies, repairing cars, motorcycle riding, fishing antiques and recycling. He saw value in everything and collected everything you could imagine. If there was something you needed, he could find it and fix it up. He was always willing to give a hand to anyone in need and had a heart for children. He enjoyed feeling needed and received much pleasure from helping others, bringing laughter often with his sense of humor. Preceding him in death were his parents and his youngest sister, Ethelene Duckett; and his dog, Diamond. Those left with fond memories of Robert are his two sons: Staff Sgt. Robert Jerome (Tamlyn) Murray of Edwards Air Force Base, CA and Teron Tate of the city; step sons: Corey Reaves and Dwayne Reaves; grandchildren: Malachi, Tatiana and Toriana; sisters: Jackie Frazier and Dorothy Hughes; foster brother, Curtis Murphy; aunt, Alice Scott of Winston-Salem, NC nieces: Tavonya Frazier of Los Angeles, CA and Telathia Frazier; two great nephews; two great-great nephews; God daughters: Shawn Brandon and Keesha Dover of Clemmons; and numerous cousins in Charlotte, Greenville, SC, Augusta, GA and Coatesville, PA and his cat, Kitty Kitty. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday, February 14, 2020 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service.
