Richard Leon Dukes departed this life to enter the Kingdom of the Lord on December 10, 2020. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC on March 5, 1941 to the late Elizabeth Dukes Griffin and Charles White. He was the oldest of eight siblings, of which five preceded him in death: Debbie Fair, Ricky Griffin, Dennis Griffin, Timothy Dukes and Bennie Lee Griffin.

Richard was a graduate of the Truck Driver's Academy and he earned his commercial driver license. He drove tractor trailer trucks for many years. He retired from driving trucks and also retired from Brenner's Metal.

Left to cherish Richard's memories are his wife Shirley Dukes and his six children: Ann Dukes, Janet Moss, Mark Dukes, Charlene Dukes, Kareme Dukes Mobley, Richard Dukes Jr,. ; One sister Elizabeth Griffin Minor; two brothers: Randolph Griffin and Michael Griffin, all of Winston-Salem, NC.

There will be no public viewing of Mr. Dukes. The family will have a private service.
