Rhonda E.
Jones
Sep 28, 1955 — Dec 8, 2025
Rhonda Elaine Jones was born on September 28, 1955 to the late Wyvonia Jones Rice and Charlie Clayton in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She passed away on December 8, 2025. As a child, Lou Ester Jackson, her guardian, cared for her. She received her formal education in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and attended Atkins High School. After graduation, she attended Winston-Salem State University.
St. James AME Church is where her Christian education was further defined. There, throughout the years, she participated in many church activities and ministries. Additionally in the community, her employment included a laundress position at a Motel 6. Admired for how she loved and cared for her family and friends, Rhonda, was known as a good-hearted person. She was welcoming and always had an open-door policy. She loved to shop whether online or in person and probably purchased many items that were blue, her favorite color.
She was preceded in death by: siblings, Wyoming Wright, Charlene Jones, James Jones, Donald Jones, Charles Bernard Jones; longtime friends who were like sisters, Deborah Witherspoon, Emma Jones, Angela Berry, Judy Roberts, and Deborah Bryant.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are: her children, Yvonnia McIntyre, Albert Jones, Patricia Love; grandchildren, Tuquana Miller, Brandon Jones, Veronica Jones, Jayme McIntyre, James Etter, Ashley Tarrant, Justin Jones, Javeon Jones, Albert Redd; great-grandchildren, Kennieth Boyce, Jr., Royalty Scales, Serenity Peterson, Melanie Faith Jones, McKenna Grace Jones, Harmony Razzak; sister, Cheryl Gray of Statesville, North Carolina; brother, Robert Jones of South Carolina; a longtime partner, Clarence Pledger; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 20, 2025 at St. James AME Church. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
