Ralph John Mitchell mounted a motorcycle and began his next journey on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

As a boy, he grew up in Walkertown, NC with his parents, Adolphus and Lucy Elvira Coletrane Mitchell and paternal grandparents John and Fannie Watkins Mitchell farming tobacco.

He was the eldest son with four siblings. Ralph John married Gertrude Spann on May 29, 1946. Ralph and Gertrude were blessed with seven children-Michael (deceased), Gwendolyn, Linda (deceased), Barbara (deceased), Anthony, Beverly (deceased), and Milton (deceased), seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a host of nieces and nephews; sister in law, Bernetta McRae Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell was a retired private chauffeur and a WWII Army Veteran. He loved NASCAR, motorcycling, and fishing.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
