Obituary

Olin Edward Watson was born on August 6, 1934, in Davidson County, North Carolina, and entered eternal rest on September 26, 2025. From his earliest days, he was raised to live with kindness, respect, and integrity—qualities that shaped his life and earned him the enduring reputation of being a truly good man.

He graduated from Dunbar High School and went on to attend Winston-Salem State University. A gifted athlete, Olin first excelled in baseball during his youth and later continued his love for sports by playing on RJ Reynolds' club softball teams. He also discovered a lifelong passion for bowling, becoming a proud member of the Camel City Bowling Club and participating in two Winston-Salem leagues. His remarkable talent on the lanes earned him three diamond rings from the North Carolina Bowlers Association for perfect score games—an extraordinary and rare accomplishment.

In his earlier years, Olin was raised in the fellowship of Goodwill Baptist Church, where he attended both as a child and through adulthood. The foundation of faith he received there remained evident in his character and in the way he treated others—with humility, patience, and love.

Olin was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mozell Watson; his beloved wives, Angelon Watson and Minnie Brown; and his daughter, Sandra Kay Miller.

He lovingly raised four children: daughters, Sandra Kay Miller (deceased) and Kendra Windham, and sons, Olin E. Watson, Jr. and Kenneth L. Watson, JD, PhD. Above all, Olin was a devoted family man and a guiding big brother to his siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carry forward his legacy of love and unity; his sister, Irene Coleman; brothers, William Lewis Watson and John Thomas Watson; five nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Those who knew him will forever remember his kindness, his humility, and his steadfast spirit. His life was one of quiet strength, devotion to family, and unwavering goodness-a legacy that continues to bless all who carry his memory.
