Ms. Danesa S.
Hunter
Aug 19, 1989 — Oct 19, 2026
Danesa Shanee Hunter, affectionately known as "Nika", age 37 passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 19, 2026. Born on August 19, 1989 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of Jonathan Hunter and Shaleta "Angel" Henry and Lashon Hunter.
Nika was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system and graduated from East Forsyth High School in 2007. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others, serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medication Technician Supervisor and Assistant Administrator at Tranquility Care of Winston. During her service, she touched the lives of countless residents, families, and coworkers through her dedication and compassion.
Above all, Danesa's greatest joy was being a mother to her three beloved children, Patrick Hall, Ky'ane Alston and Nariya (Daisy) Lewis. Her children were her heart and her greatest motivation. She was their protector, supporter, and fiercest advocate, loving them with everything she had.
Nika was outspoken, strong-willed, loyal, and unapologetically herself. She had a contagious laugh, a loving heart, and a personality that could never be forgotten. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave and the lives she touched will continue to shine through everyone she leaves behind.
Nika leaves to cherish her precious memory, her three beloved children: Patrick, Kayane, and Nariya (Daisy) Lewis; her parents, Jonathan David Hunter and Shaleta “Angel” Henry; her sisters, Kearia Hunter and Malaysia Hunter; her brothers, Zaire Hunter and Yuri Hunter; her paternal grandmother, Elaine Hunter; her aunts, Mary Washington, Nanette Henry, Darlene Hunter; her uncles, Vanshon Henry and Kevin Hunter; her special cousin, Quilla Hunter; and a host of other relatives, loved ones and special friends, Lisa Dunlap, Whitney Shore, Denise Canty and Miasia Livingston.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that the love Nika shared will never fade. Her laughter will echo in our memories, her strength will continue to inspire us, and her love will remain a part of us forever.
Public viewing will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service 1:00 PM, Friday, October 30, 2026 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends thirty-minutes prior to service.
