Monnette Latrice Smith, affectionately known as "Momo", was born on October 22, 1979 to Delray C. Smith. She completed her earthly tasks and peacefully passed away on November 8, 2023.

With great determination, she attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. She began at Lowrance School and proudly graduated from Forsyth Vocational High School in 2000. Inspired by those who knew her, she encouraged her teams and the crowds as a cheerleader at both schools from 1994-2000.

Monnette was fashion conscious and particular about her outfits. She enjoyed being dressed up but not so much dressing preparation rituals. Purple was her favorite color. If she was promised something, she held the person who promised to their word. It was important to her to complete a task before she started another one. Although she was a great negotiator, her requests were often quite simple. Most of all, Monnette loved her family! We will miss her smile, remember her vibrant personality and never forget the special place she holds in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by: her mother, Delray C. Smith, grandmother, Odessa Covington, and her cousin, Kerry M. Wade.

Monnette's precious memories will be cherished by her siblings: Rita Ovette Oti, B.A. (Kim) Smith and Marcus Lamont (Ashely) Smith; nephews and nieces; Jamaal Oti, Jasmine, Jahnay, Déja, and Dru Smith; six great nieces and nephews: Kayla, Zane, Khloe, Zahron, Khiry and Kobe; devoted cousins: Katrina (Stevie) Bullock, LaToya, Dionte, and Jakobe Wright, and Kedron and Jolie Bullock; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

Public viewing from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2023 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons. The family will greet friends thirty-minutes prior to service. Interment in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, North Carolina.
