Mr. Moncure Williams, Sr. was born on August 2, 1934 in Chester, SC to the late Sidney Williams and Mary Caldwell Williams. He attended the Chester County schools and was a graduate of Finley High School. Mr. Williams retired after 32 years of service to AMTRAK Railways. He enjoyed music, keeping his car clean and taking pictures.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his daughter, Monchell Hanes; sister, Icelean Williams; brothers: John Sidney Williams, Robert Finley and Douglas "Butch" Williams; step-mother, Louise Stokes Williams. He passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Bernadette Honore Williams; children: Georgia Rambert, Gloria (Arthur) Hunder, Moncure (Margaret) Williams, Jr., Mary Williams, Angela Kitchings, Cassandra (Lonnie) Irby, Tracey Mason, Renee (Ernest) Scovens, James (Raquel) Williams, Pamela (Craig) Jackson, Lamont (Robynee) Williams, Ernest Morris, Eric and Aaron Sims; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Family visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express appreciation for the exceptional care given Mr. Williams by the 8th Floor Palliative Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center and of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home staff.
