Minnie Belle
Floyd
Sep 11, 1932 — Nov 17, 2021
Ms. Minnie Belle Floyd, the daughter of Margaret and James, was born in York County, SC on September 11, 1932. She too, kept the faith, completed her race on November 17, 2021 and was prepared to receive her promise from the Lord.
Determined, she continued her education beyond what was expected from someone in her era, by attending night classes to earn her High School diploma. Among her many talents was her ability to grow beautiful plants that she proudly displayed. It was a pastime that brought her great joy.
For more than 40 years she was an active member at First Calvary Baptist Church. There she was a member of the Senior Usher Board, the Missionary Circle and she participated in many church events.
In addition to both of her parents, she was preceded her in death by: her daughter, Myrtle Doe; son, Muriel Floyd, Jr.; adopted son, Dwight Floyd; and grandson,
Anthony Edwards.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include: her children, Marion (Rev. Bryan) Edwards of Dale City, VA, Barbara (Dr. Paul, Jr.) Hagan of Holly Springs, NC, Gloria Mack of Charlotte, NC, and Lois (David) Gray of Winston-Salem, NC; siblings, Gladys Smith, John Burins and Ervin Burins; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held private. There will be no viewing of Ms. Floyd.
