Michael Todd Smith was born in Clemmons, NC on August 22, 1962 to George Wiley Smith and Frances Griffith. His earthly travels were completed on February 14, 2023.

He attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of West Forsyth High School. A man of many talents, he was known for his cooking skills which led to many catering events. Decorating and coordinating were among his other pastimes.

Well-known for his integrity, courage, intelligence, and bravery, Michael made good use of those traits during his career in retail sales. He visited various churches but was a member of Hickory Grove AME Zion Church and participated in many church ministries, wherever he could contribute and make a difference in the lives of others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and companion his, devoted and beloved Barbara.

Those who remain to cherish precious memories of Michael include: his daughter, Parris Smith; his son, Thomas Wesley Smith; grandson, Thomas Wesley Smith, Jr.; a brother, Kenneth Smith; niece, Briana Smith; nephew, Kenneth Smith, Jr.; an in-law, Diane Smith; godchildren: Morgan, Mason, and Madison Norwood, Nicolas Imes, Joshua and Jeremy Carter; special family, Giovanni and Dawn Bass; and other special children: Giovanni, II, Kynnedi and Kelsei Bass.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Chapel. There will be no public viewing. *Masks required.
