Ms. Melinda Louise Lash passed away at WFU Baptist Medical Center on Saturday, February 10, 2018. She was born to the late Howard Z. and Marie Miller Lash in Winston-Salem, NC on December 29, 1930. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven siblings. She graduated from Carver Consolidated School in 1948 and then completed her commercial education at Russell Business School. She later completed course work at Strayer University. Ms. Lash worked at the United States Treasury Department (IRS) in the Chief Counsel Division as a paralegal for 21 years prior to her retirement from the division. She was a life-long and dedicated member of Bethania AME Zion Church. She faithfully served as Church Secretary, Class Leader, a member of the Parent Body, Missionary and Stewardess Boards. Survivors include her sister, Frances Lash Cloud; 9 nieces, including the devoted, Susan Epperson; 4 nephews; several great nieces and nephews; many extended family members and friends. A funeral service will take place at 1pm, Friday, February 16, 2018 at Bethania AME Zion Church with Reverend Dr. Karen Roberts-Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
