Maxine Peay Haney was born on June 8, 1929 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Grant and Emma Peay in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She passed on September 27, 2021.

Maxine was a graduate of Atkins High School.

Maxine later married the love of her life Waddell Haney. She spent her life making a home for her family.

She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a Gold Star member.

Maxine loved preparing meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed working puzzle books and board puzzles.

Maxine survivors include the loves of her life, Verdie, William and Richard Haney; daughters-in-law: Towanna and Melissa Haney; grandchildren: Le'Ann, RJ, Ashley, Carneshia and Jax. Plus, a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Waddell Haney on August 19, 1991.

Funeral service will be private. Mrs. Haney will be publicly viewed Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
