Makieya Rae Smith, 20, transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal on Saturday, July 03, 2021. She was born July 02, 2001 to Tremona (Rodney) Purvis and Mica (Tanisha) Smith in Forsyth County. She was educated in Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and graduated from Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy. Upon graduation from high school, she attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte NC, majoring in Business.

Makieya embarked on a career as a prominent business owner of Rae Dior, Designs by Rae Dior, and Invisible Waist Trainer. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, her ambitious admiration touched the lives of every person she encountered.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her fiancée Walter Lionel McNeal; parents: Tremona (Rodney) Purvis and Mica (Tanisha) Smith; siblings: Rodney Purvis Jr., Semaj Reid, Treshawn Cappers and Jennifer Taylor; grandparents: Earnestine J. Cornelius, Avis Miller Sewell and Ollie Smith; aunts: Charlotte Brown, Shaunta Montgomery, Natasha Lytles and Jennifer Quail; uncles Thomas Bradley, Tony Smith; great aunts: Pastor Alice M. Mitchell (Larry) and Barbara C. Manning; brother in-law Walter Samuel McNeal; a host of cousins, other family and friends.

Makieya Rae Smith Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 noon Monday July 12, 2021 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Nathan Scovens. Burial will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. There will be no public viewing of Miss Smith.
