Lester Allen Wingo, age 81, was born on December 30, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Hugh Lee, Sr. and Clara Howell Wingo. He was the youngest of six (6) children. He passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home in Winston-Salem, NC. Lester was born on the same day that his father died. He grew up as Lester Allen Williams in Sikeston, Missouri, where he graduated from high school. He received his auto mechanic education in Sikeston and earned a degree in Auto Mechanics.

Lester was a truck driver by profession. He was a man who loved drag racing and he loved to travel. He enjoyed running and racing with his children because it kept him young and in shape.

Lester moved to Winston-Salem in 2021 to be with and enjoy his family that lived here. He spent his last days expressing how much he loved his family; he visited and shared his love with lots of hugs, kisses and phone calls.

Lester was preceded in death by his wife, Dionne Booker Wingo; and a son, Mark Williams.
