Mr. Larry Stanley Harris was born in Stanford, Kentucky on November 7, 1948 to the late Ed Harris and Lucille Helm. On September 24, 2026, after a brief illness, he passed away at Novant Health-Forsyth Medical Center.

Larry graduated from McKinney High School in 1967. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Geraldine Ford Harris, who preceded him in death.

He worked for many years at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, as a forklift operator, retiring in 2014.

He was a devoted member of Greater Faith Empowerment Church under the leadership of Pastor Tony Neal, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Melinda Harris, Teresa Hairston (Terry II), Larry Harris, Jr. (Shana); grandchildren: Terry Hairston, IV, Tyren Hairston, Trinity Hairston, Larry Harris and Jada Harris; great-grandchildren: Kian Kelleher; his sister, Barbara Helm; his brothers, Bradley Helm (Bessie), Clifford Helm; bonus grandsons: Adrian Graham, III and Paul Jones, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and countless friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2026 at First Waughtown Baptist Church. The family will greet friends at 12 Noon. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
