Kassim Nacati
Geddings
Feb 12, 1984 — Nov 5, 2021
Kassim was born February 12, 1984 to Howard and Angela at a U.S. Air Force base in Istanbul, Turkey. After his father's service there ended, the family returned to New York City, NY. In 1992, Kassim relocated with his family to his mother's hometown of Winston-Salem, NC. He continued to call North Carolina home until his passing on November 5, 2021, at the young age of 37.
He attended Paisley Middle School and Parkland High School. While at Paisley, he met a sweet girl named Shrese. The two dated for some time before eventually going their separate ways. However, nearly 20 years later, they were reunited and discovered that they'd always belonged together. Not long after, the two were engaged.
Kassim was never one to allow life's difficulties t prevent him from achieving his goals. As a young adult, he earned his GED, but he didn't stop there. In 2016, he started his own business: KG Miscellaneous Work. In 2020, he took several online courses in Business through Purdue University and the University of Phoenix. In September 2021 as Kassim looked forward to bringing home another bundle of joy in November, he began working for Food Lion to provide additional stability to his family.
He loved God, his family, and his friends. He enjoyed putting things together, cooking (and eating), appreciating the many blessings in his life and reminding others to do the same. He was incredibly generous, hardworking, and deserving of a future that should have lasted many more years.
Kassim was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Gail Robinson John, and his stepfather, Lucien John.
Left to cherish his memories are his father, Howard (Lydia) Geddings; his fiancée, Shrese Cooper and their children, Marley, Jeremiah, and Jacob; his daughter and son, Christina and David (Mother-Richelle Baker); his daughter Nakesha (Mother-Shantel Williams); his siblings, Harkime Geddings, Hashon (Juli) Geddings, Johnanna Lee Geddings, Monique John, Sylvie (Charles) John, and Lucien John, Jr.; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins; and close friends, William Smith, DeShawn Wood, Duke Quick and the entire Quick family.
Funeral service for Mr. Geddings will be private.
