John Williams Jones Sr., known to some as "Willie" or "Boss Hog", was born on December 25, 1934 to the late John Henry and Elzada Rice Jones in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He passed away on Tuesday March 4, 2025.

He was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he was self-employed. John's favorite hobby was to listen to music especially anything by James Brown and to participate in family gatherings. John's walk of faith was non-denominational.

He was married to Jessie A. Stitt for over 50 years until her passing. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Jean Jones Sanders; son-in-law, Sylvester "Vest" Bitting; grandson, Sylvester Ronald Bitting; sisters, Thelma (Richard) Osia, and Lucinda LeGree; brothers, Benny Lee, Robert and Eddie Jones.

John leaves behind to cherish wonderful memories, his children, Ruby Bitting, Sandra Jones, Cynthia (Jesse Gallman), John Williams Jones Jr.; siblings, Mary (Julius) Phillips of Winston-Salem, NC, Louella Nimrod, Betty Jones, Allen (Joyce) Jones and Louella Nimrod of Houston, Texas.

Also remaining to celebrate his life are a host of grand-children, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who will continue to cherish his memory.

There will be no public viewing for Mr. Jones. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends thirty-minutes prior to service.
