Mr. John Henry Easter passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 2, 2017. He was born to the late Wesley and Janie Bishop Easter in Winston-Salem, NC on March 1, 1937. He graduated from Atkins High School in 1955 and gave honorable service for his country in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1963. John retired from Roadway Trucking Company. Survivors include his wife, Juanita M. Easter; three daughters, LaTricia E. London, LaTonya E. Sawyer (Donald, Jr.) and LaKisha Easter; five grandsons; two great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care or Mount Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.
