Jessica Marie Chaplin Morgan, known affectionately to family and friends as "Porky," was born in Winston-Salem, NC on April 8, 1971 to the late Willie Chaplin and Clydie Sturdivant Chaplin. After many years of caring for her family and others, she passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

She attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools and was a graduate of North Forsyth High School. She completed her training and received her certification from Miller-Motte Business College. For 25 years, Jessica was an efficient and dedicated office coordinator at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

Jessica was a longtime member of White Rock Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Trustee Board and with the Usher Ministry. As often as possible, "Porky" enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with family.

Among other family members, Jessica was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Clydie Chaplin.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gene Morgan; children: Jakia Chaplin, Gene Morgan, Jr. and Jaylen Morgan; siblings, Tammy (Stephen) Atwater and Willie Chaplin; nieces, Shanae Chaplin and Elana Chaplin; nephews, Willie Chaplin and Tevin Atwater; great nieces, Chloe Williamson, Bella Williamson and Elizabeth Chaplin; great nephew, Jyri Atwater; sister-in-law, Denise Chaplin; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Public viewing will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2023 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at White Rock Baptist Church, 1233 NE 14th Street, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The family will greet friends thirty-minutes prior to service. Interment Piedmont Memorial Gardens. *Masks required.
