Mr. James Nichols, 78, of 2912 Emerson St, passed away on Friday at the Hospice Home of the Piedmont in High Point, NC. James, known to family and friends as "Nut" was born in Forsyth County to the late Lethia and John Nichols. James and his late wife Wanda Nichols moved to the Hemingway community on May 1, 1973.

James was employed by the Dize Company for 58 years and retired in June 2018. James loved golf, thrift stores, pets, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Herbert Nichols, sister Lethia Mae Nichols Coleman and wife Wanda Faye Nichols.

James is survived by goddaughter Michelle Carter (daughters DaNajah and Aseelah O'Neal), daughter Tammy Jones, grandsons Damon Jones and Davon Ross, nephew Kevey Coleman (Paula), niece Lequita McCullough (Marion), cousin Arthur Joyner (Edith), and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Chapel in Winston Salem, NC. Family visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. with funeral service starting at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow to Woodland Cemetery.
