Mr. James E. "Bootsie" Conrad, 90, was born November 11, 1928 to the late Ruth Conrad. He answered the Lord's call on March 17, 2019. He served honorably for two years and twenty-two months in the US Army. He was a proud veteran. He worked for thirty years at Wake Forest University.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by good friend Fred McLean. He leaves to cherish his memory devoted and loving caregivers, Algefields and Barbara A. Cain; devoted friends: Dwight (Katie) Johnson, Johnny Austin, Donald Ray Palzer, devoted cousins: Cornell and Eva O'Neal, Milton Houston, Wendy "Jane" (Edward) Maddox, Raymond O'Neal, Dr. Barbara O'Neal, Ronald (Tonya) O'Neal and loving church family; a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Dreamland Park Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Dunbar Street, Pastor Ronald C. Fisher, Sr., officiating, visitation will be 10:30am - 11:00am, with the funeral immediately following. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
