Mr. Howard Williamson, 86, affectionately known as "JC," was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Darlington SC to Johnny and Mariah Samuels Williamson. One of 7 children, he was beloved patriarch, husband, father and proud veteran. He transitioned peacefully the morning of July 9, 2017,

He retired from Thomasville Furniture Co., Hanes Brands, and the U.S Postal Service. Mr. Williamson served with pride in the Korean War, as part of an Army infantry division.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Thomas Williamson, 16 children, Lonnie ( Gloria) Williamson, Howard Williamson Jr, Bertie Williamson McIver, Clara Williamson, Robert (Vera) Williamson, Joann (Ronnie) Frazier, Benjamin Williamson, Kenneth Williamson, Christopher Thomas, Vivian (Cardell) Caldwell, Angela Coleman, Jimmy Coleman, Stephanie Coleman, Robert Coleman and Tomika (Anthony) Fennel, 38 grandchildren and a host of great-grands; 2 sisters: Alma Williamson, Sadie Brown, 3 brothers: Tommy (Ruby) Williamson Johnny (Equilla) Williamson, Johnny Brown, 4 sisters-in-law: Shirley Williamson, Phyllis (Donnie) Warren, Vevia Thomas, and Iris (Jimmy) Brandon, 3 brothers-in-law: Robin Richardson, Ervin (Betty) Williamson, Tony Cuthrell; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 1:30 PM on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Salisbury National Cemetery.
