Mrs. Hattie McKinney Elliott fulfilled her earthly mission on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Mrs. Elliott was born to the late Robert Samuel and Eunice Amanda McKinney on August 2, 1929 in Winston-Salem, NC. She was joined in marriage to the late Samuel C. Elliott.

Mrs. Elliott was educated in the Winston-Salem Public schools and was a graduate of Winston-Salem State University, receving her BS Degree and New York University where she received her Master of Education. She taughtin the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools until her retirement.

Mrs. Elliott loved her church, Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church, where she was very active.

She is survived by her sister, Dr. Judith Settle; niece, Joy Settle Goode; great niece, Keisha Scott; great nephew, Christian Settle; sister-in-law, Charlesetta McKinney; special niece and caregiver, Linda Mincey; and a host of cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
