Obituary

Mr. Harvey Alvin Jackson was born in Winston-Salem, NC on February 3, 1964 to the late Junius Jackson and Barbara Cole-man Isom. He was educated in the local public schools and graduated from Parkland High School, class of 1982.

Affectionately known as "Wall Banger", he was a jack of all trades. Harvey worked for Hampton Inn in Bermuda Run and was a groundskeeper for the City of Winston-Salem. He was the go-to man for maintenance and mechanics and a hard worker to the end. Harvey was the neighborhood hero, had a heart of gold and took care of his neighbors with his hands and his heart. He both loved to eat and play chess with passion. He also loved the children and the dogs in the neighborhood. He kept a smile on his face and would keep you laughing. Everyone will miss him…we got your school girl.

Harvey passed away on January 7, 2025 from complications following an automobile accident in July, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Oscar Gwyn.

He is survived by his daughters: Shirley Hines and Paris Hines; his mother, Barbara Coleman (Jerry) Isom; his sister, Janice Jackson Gwyn; brother Junious Jackson; special friend, Sylvia Bonaparte; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
