Gracie Oree
Burwick
Aug 26, 1936 — Sep 7, 2026
Gracie was born August 26, 1936 to Isabelle Oree and Charlie Benton in Forsyth County. A few days after celebrating her 90th birthday our matriarch transitioned from labor to reward Monday, September 7, 2026.
A phenomenal free spirited woman of grace and strength. Gracie embodied love and vitality living life to the fullest. She loved God and her family and the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed fishing, serving and worshiping with her Greater Galilee Winston-Salem church family. Gracie also had amazing culinary skills.
Gracie will be remembered by her style, wittiness, charisma and commanding presence. She was Gracie, Mama Gracie, Ms. Gracie and Nana to many, but somehow made each one feel they were her favorite and special. She had an amazing love for everyone.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of family and friends including her loving and devoted sister, Valerie Taylor; niece, Celestine Oree; her loves, Taven Taylor, LaKeisha and Koneisha Macon, Riley and RaeLynn (Nana2.0) Richardson, Ayden Macon Price, Austin Graham, the twins, Cameron, Christian and Jordan Brown.
Public viewing will be from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service 12:30 PM, Monday, September 14, 2026 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends thirty-minutes prior to service.
