Mrs. Gloria Reader Davis was born on April 29, 1949 to the late Robert and Carrie Jackson in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mrs. Davis attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. Gloria retired from the Forsyth County Department of Public Health. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. On Wednesday, January 8, 2020 Mrs. Davis passed away. In addition to her parents, Robert and Carrie Jackson, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Davis; sister, Patricia Samuels; and brother-in-law, Hubert Samuels. Gloria leaves to cherish her memory; brothers, Bishop Bobbie (Carrie) Reader, Arthur (Wanda) Reader, Terry (Denise) Jackson, and Donald (Janet DeCreny) Jackson; a special uncle, John W. (Jackie) Reader; and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
