George B.
Evans Iii
Nov 25, 1952 — Jun 22, 2017
George "Bro" Bell Evans, III, a lifetime resident of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, heard God's call, turned his back and left it all on Thursday, June 22, 2017, after a brief illness. George, known to his family and friends as "Bro", was born to the union of George and Edena Evans on November 25, 1952. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Hanes CME Church. Bro dedicated many hours and much love and care to the NA Organization and received special community recognition from the organization. His extended family in Charlotte, North Carolina loved and treated him as their own by getting together, having fun, and baking him cakes when he would come to town. Bro loved meeting with his Winston-Salem friends at the K&W Restaurant every morning for breakfast before he got his day started. Bro's big smile and watchful eyes would brighten your day just by nature of his presence. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Bro worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for many years and took early retirement due to minor health issues. In 1987, he was united to holy matrimony to the lovely Annettia Hill. Cherishing His Memories are his forever faithful wife, Annettia Evans, his daughter, Lakeysier Evans (Derick) Franklin of Charlotte, N. C.; 2 step-daughters, Denise Hill (Darryl) Little of Winston-Salem and Renee Hill (Marcend) Coney of Homestead, Fl.; 5 grandchildren, D'Nydia, Derick II, Christian, Kourtney, and Marcend II.; 3 sisters: Rose Clark of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Georgia (James) Connor and Adrienne Hairston both of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; 1 brother, James Evans of Dobson, N. C., and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A service in his memory will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Hanes Memorial CME Church.
