Emma S. Banks, 70, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Kate B Hospice Home and Palliative Care Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on July 22, 1947 to the late Walter and Phoebe Staten in Forsyth County and spent her childhood years with the late William and Beulah Staten McFadden, who reared her into adulthood. She attended Paisley High School and retired from Bellsouth. Known affectionately as "Miss Emma", she will be greatly missed by family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Iamissky Lee Banks, Sr., brother Otis Cleveland Staten and sister Shirley Ann Moore. Surviving are two daughters Angela Hillian and Carlotta Banks; two sons Iamissky Banks Jr. and Derek Banks all of Winston-Salem; brother Charles (Gail) Bohannon of Winston-Salem, five grandchildren: Brenden Hillian, Troy Hillian, Justin Lipscomb, Monica Ferguson and Korey Banks, all of Winston-Salem. Mrs. Banks also leaves behind a host of cherished family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday March 7, 2018 at Clark Brown and Sons Funeral Home located at 727 Patterson Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Burial services will be immediately following at Salisbury National Cemetery, located at 202 Government Rd, Salisbury NC 28144.
