Ellis Cleo Edwards, Jr. was born July 1, 1956 to the late Ellis and Rosa Mae Edwards in New Bern, NC.

He attended J.T. Barber High School in New Bern, NC. He also earned a Certificate of Completion in Human Resource Development from Cape Fear Community College in New Bern, NC.

In 1978 Ellis became an active member of the United States Coast Guard and received and Honorary Discharge in 1982.

Ellis moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina 2006 and was employed in janitorial services and later became self-employed in the Recycling Business.

Ellis was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and went so far as to name is dog, Pittsburgh. He also enjoyed watching programs on TV.

On Sunday, October 17, 2021, Ellis entered into rest. We have precious memories that will live on.

Preceding in death were his parents, Ellis Cleo Edwards, Sr. and Rosa Mae Edwards; and one sister Rose Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Khadija Edwards; five siblings, Vivian "Bibby" Scott, and Marzella "Marty" Scott (Maryland), Hattie Mae Tracey (Arizona), Joyce Edwards (Washington, DC), Regina Chairs (New Bern, NC); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special friend Prennis Williams.

Mr. Ellis will be publicly viewed Friday, October 22, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Interment Salisbury National Cemetery
