Mrs. Dorothy Mae White Baxton was born on June 7, 1918 in Strieby , NC to the late Henry Hill and Theodocia White.

Mrs. Baxton spent her adult life living and working in Harlem, New York. She returned to North Carolina to care for her mother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening and sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Charles Hill, Sr. and Clifton Hill and a devoted niece, Elizabeth Foster.

She is survived by her nieces: Glenda Hill Simpson of Lexington, NC and Joann Davis of New York; nephew, Charles Hill, Jr. of Lexington, NC; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A service in her memory will be held at 12:00 Pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church.
