Ms. Doris Malloy Barr was born to the late Johnny Benton and Hattie Mae Simmons Malloy on April 11, 1939. She departed this life on March 26, 2022, after an extended illness. She grew up in Winston-Salem, received her early education in the local public schools and graduated from Atkins High School.

A dedicated employee of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System, she retired after more than thirty years of service. "Aunt Doris" was a very talented and creative lady. She will always be remembered by family and friends for her lovely handmade crafts and her delicious homemade cakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Willie B. (Thomasine) Malloy.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her son, Dexter Eugene Barr; one daughter, Regina Barr; two brothers, Johnny (Helen) Malloy and Robert Malloy, all of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

There will be a graveside service for Ms. Barr, Friday, April 1, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Interment Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
