Mr. Donald Andre Moore was born to the late Beulah M. Moore and the late Thomas Campbell on November 19, 1959 in Forsyth County.

After graduating from West Forsyth High School in 1978, he went into the Navy where he served 10 years. After his years of service, he relocated back to a city he loved, Charleston, South Carolina where he reconnected with the love of his life, Ada Washington. Ada and Donald married on November 24, 2005. They filled their days with laughter, family and travel. Known for his collards, you would often see Donald cooking in the kitchen, toasting to his life, wearing a hat, overalls and a bright smile.

He held the calmest disposition and enjoyed each day of life. Above all, Donald had a gracious heart, never saw a fault in anyone, never met a stranger, or someone he didn't get along with. In 2019, he moved to Asheville, North Carolina and worked at the VA Hospital.

Family members who will carry on his memory are his loving wife, Ada Washington-Moore; his son, Wesley Shultz, and grandsons, Wesley, Jr. and Isley; one loving sister Geneva Moore and one adopted sister, Stephanie Benson; four loving brothers: Gilbert (Gloria) Moore, Steven (Shari) Moore, Ronald Moore and Keith (Abby) Moore; loving mother-in-law, Dorothy Washington; special sister-in-law, Sebrina Washington; brother-in-laws: Melvin (Doris) Gadsden, Elliot (Ruthie) Washington; two aunts, Ella Robinson and Carolyn Johnson; one uncle Elder Edward Moore; and several nieces, cousins, extended family members and many friends.

A private funeral service will be held at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2021.
