Delcie
Purvis
Jul 28, 1947 — May 5, 2025
Delcie Patricia "Pat" Purvis, 77, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. She was born on July 28, 1947, in Winston-Salem, NC, to the late Daniel Lee and Lena Mae Edwards, Sr.
A proud graduate of Paisley High School, Pat continued her education at business school. She was previously married to William Crews Sr., with whom she had three children: David (Arnetta), Angela, and William Jr. (Rhea).
Pat dedicated much of her professional life to serving her community. She worked as a devoted teacher aide with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and later found success in retail at Piece Goods Shops and Dillard's.
Music was one of Pat's greatest passions. She had an extensive album collection and was an avid concert-goer who found joy in live performances. Known for her creativity and impeccable sense of fashion, Pat also had a talent for crafting and baking. Her homemade cakes were legendary among family and friends, bringing joy to many gatherings.
She later married Alton Purvis, who preceded her in death.
Pat is survived by her loving children, David, Angela, and William Jr.; her two cherished grandchildren, Angel and Mirinda; and her brother, Daniel Edwards Jr. (Ann). She also held deep love for her three grandchildren who preceded her in death—Malaysia, Tyaire, and Belize. Pat is further survived by her nieces and nephews and shared a special sister bond with her first cousin, Bernette McCargo—a relationship both treasured deeply.
A woman of kindness, creativity, and dedication, Pat leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to inspire her family and all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:30am. Family visitation will start at 11:00 a.m.
