Ms. Deborah Ann Witherspoon Williams was born on December 16, 1956 to the late Johnnie L. and Bessie M. Witherspoon in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. That was indeed the beginning of her assignment of touching the lives of so many.

She received her formal education in Winston-Salem/Forsyth Schools and graduated from North Forsyth High School. She later attended Forsyth Technical Community College for two years.

Deborah loved working with children. She was a Child Care Teacher who was employed by and later retired from Future Leaders Day Care. In her moments of leisure, she especially enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and friends.

Ms. Williams passed away on January 10, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Brenda W. Cobb and Abdul Lateef Uqdah.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Alphonzo Witherspoon, Sr., Derick Witherspoon, Sr., JaLessa Witherspoon and Chris Witherspoon; grandchildren, Desmond Galloway, Alphonzo Witherspoon, Jr., Alesia Witherspoon, Teliah Dawkins, Tye Witherspoon, Derick Witherspoon, Jr., Jodey Trejo, Darius Miller, Kye Miller, Ja'Marian Witherspoon, Cori Witherspoon, Neiah Witherspoon; sister, Sandra Witherspoon; brother, John Witherspoon; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Nicole Richardson and Debbie Thomas.

Ms. Williams may be publicly viewed Monday, January 17, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Service will be private.
