Deborah M.
Butler
Jan 8, 1953 — May 15, 2026
eborah Muldrow Butler, a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and every title she holds in your heart was born January 8, 1953 to late Eloise Kelly and late Pinell Muldrow in Hudson County, Jersey City, New Jersey. Deborah was a proud graduate of Ferris High School, Class of 1972.
On October 7, 1974, Deborah and her late husband Edward Williams were blessed with their son, Edward Golden Willams. After the loss of her husband, Deborah made the courageous decision to move to Winston-Salem, North Carolina where her brother Parnell Mon-roe Jr. and his wife Evelyn welcomed her and her son with open arms.
Along her journey, Deborah met Lenny and they were blessed with their daughter LaSheeda on December 20, 1985. Deborah became a valued employee to Sara Lee Hoisery in 1987 from where she retired with over 25 years of dedication.
In 1988, Deborah and her husband Lenny Butler purchased a family home, which would become the center of many family gatherings for over 30 years.
Deborah took pride in having a place for family to visit. To have known Deborah was to know if you stepped foot into her home; you would have seen pictures adorned on the walls and tables. Family was at the center of her heart so much that she took custody of her nephew Kenny Muldrow at the age of 15 and raised him like her very own son. Deborah had a knack for numbers and card games. You could find her writing down numbers and associating them with dreams and other things. Deborah would even sit down with her westerns while playing a game of solitaire.
If you did not catch Deborah at a Casino with her heavenly sister Carol, or on vacation with her sister Darlene's family, you would find her doing her favorite pastime, baking.
Deborah enjoyed making her family and friends smile through her baked goods. You could taste love through every bite. In fact, Deborah loved baking so much; she took a few baking and business courses at Guilford Technical Community College. Recently, Deborah gained a love for cruising with her cousin Gale. Being on the open waters with loved ones brought her great happiness. Deborah collected figurines and could tell you how she obtained any one you asked about. Deborah's warm spirit, laughter, jokes and "the look" will live on in each of our hearts.
Living on to cherish Deborah's memories are her husband Lenny Butler; son Edward Golden Williams; daughter LaSheeda Butler; nephew Kenny (Kiersha) Muldrow; stepson Tariq Hannah; sister Emma Darlene Fields; brother Gregory Muldrow; dedicated niece Apostle Lawana Wallace; her lifelong friends Dot Epps and Pam Bradley; and brother and sisters-in law Janice (Edward) Greene, Angela (Terrence) Tilly, Annette and Gerard Butler, Rachel (Winston) Murphy, Anthony, Andrea, Charles and Kevin King; and a host of cousins, nephews, and nieces across generations.
