Deantha Arnette McCall was born on June 18, 1962 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Nelsie McCall Wright (Frank) and Samuel Little. On April 18, 2026 after a short illness. Deantha peacefully departed this life leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and unwavering devotion to her family.
A proud 1980 graduate of East Forsyth High School, Deantha continued her education at Forsyth Technical Community College, where she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked at Forsyth Memorial Hospital and later at GCS Services and Allied Universal.
Raised in a family rooted deeply in faith, Deantha's spiritual journey began at Mars Hill Baptist Church. She later worshipped at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church and eventually united with Zion Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. At Zion Memorial, Deantha served with humility and dedication as a member of the Culinary Team, the Women's Ministry, and the Pastor's Aide Ministry.
A member of the McCall Travel and Savings Club and the McCall Family Reunion Committee - Deantha loved her family deeply and no family function was held without her full participation and support; and just two weeks prior to her passing, she held a Family Easter Picnic.
Next to her love for God, the greatest joy of Deantha's life were her daughters and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. Her pride in them was evident to everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and several beloved cousins.
Left to cherish her loving memory are two daughters, RaShaunda McCall and Jasmine Boykins; grandchildren, Jamoni Boykins and Jayceion Boykins; brothers, Virgil DeWarren McCall, Calvin (Darlene) McCall, Chris McCall, and Samuel Little, Jr.; sisters, Sonya Swittzer and Deborah (Bennie) Harris; aunt, Brenda L. McCall; a special cousin, Dr. Nelson S. Deantha lived a life of quiet strength, faithful service, and steadfast love. Like unseen pillar that holds a house together, she supported and uplifted those around her-often without recognition, but always with grace.
